Q: What is the art and technique of Microblading and Microshading?

A: Microblading is the technique of utilizing tattoo-like pigmentation to create minimal lines into the top layer of the skin (the epidermis). The goal is to fill in your already-existing eyebrows with hair-like strokes of pigmentation. The pigmentation is chosen to match established hues and shades of your existing eyebrows for a natural, realistic appearance.

Q: Is Microblading permanent?

A: Microblading is not permanent. Unlike other permanent cosmetic procedures, Microblading is not deposited into the skin as deep as other procedures.

Q: So if it is not permanent, how quickly will it fade?

A: On average, Microblading tends to fade within 12-14 months. There are a few factors that can sometimes alter the length of time such as an individual’s skin care routine, regular exposure to the sun and the color pigmentation of the Microblading. Skin type can be a varying factor as well – someone with oilier skin tends to fade quicker than someone with drier skin.

Q: How long does the appointment last - what process can I expect?

A: Usually the appointment lasts about two hours. My goal is to make sure you are completely satisfied with your eyebrows before you leave. When you first arrive, I will go over your “brow goals” – Would you prefer them to be fuller? Are we touching up a past Microblading procedure? Do you want darker hues in your eyebrows? All of these factors are addressed initially. After that, I will start to outline and plan my strokes by creating small strokes within your brow line. Once we have mapped out your personal brow plan, I will apply a topical numbing cream that I allow to set for approximately 25 minutes. Once the numbing cream has started to take effect, we start the Microblading process. I will never rush and I want to ensure that you are in love with your beautiful, new eyebrows!

Q: Does Mircroblading Hurt?

A: While trying to keep in mind that pain is subjective, everyone has a different experience. We have had clients who are able to fall asleep during the procedure and others who describe the pain to be similar to a light, repetitive scratch. The goal of the topical numbing cream is to subdue or completely eliminate any pain experienced through the process.

Q: Will my eyebrows look natural?

A: The GADIS technicians have spent the past few years constantly training, learning and mastering new techniques, color theories and brow shaping to deliver the most natural, beautiful looking eyebrows. The website offers client testimonials and before and after pictures for your viewing!

Q: What can I expect for my aftercare and healing process?

A: The aftercare process is not complicated but in order for your brows to heal beautifully and quickly, it does require some persistence. I advise my clients to avoid any sun, water or exercise exposure to refrain from perspiration to the brow area for the first ten days. From there, you can expect some scabbing, peeling and color changes to the area as the skin heals and the pigment begins to settle. The color can appear to be rather dark within the first seven days or so.

Q: How much does the procedure cost?

A: GADIS technicians currently range between $495 - $695 depending on the technician, which includes the initial appointment as well as a touch up approximately six to eight weeks after your first appointment. At the time of booking, we require a $100 deposit that goes towards your final cost.

Q: Am I a good candidate for Microblading?

A: Sadly, we are unable to Microblade anyone with hypertrophic scars, keloid scars, any autoimmune diseases and anyone who is pregnant or nursing. Results will vary for every client.
